=========================================================================== Archive Maintainer : Weapons/gameplay conversion - goes in Combos. Update to : This is a new file Advanced engine needed : EDGE 1.29 RC3 Primary purpose : No levels included =========================================================================== Title : Cold Hard Cash Filename : ww-cash.wad Release date : October 5th, 2005 (revised) Author : WildWeasel Email Address : wild.weasel@gmail.com Other Files By Author : WW-XM, WW-DIZD, WW-BSNI, WW-OPM Misc. Author Info : Doom Armory Quartermaster. http://armory.drdteam.org/ Description : The sound of jangling change being deposited into a machine. The dull rumble of your prize dispensing itself into the retrieval chute. The punctuating click of the hammer. You've bought and paid for your favorite brand of magnum revolver. Regardless of who previously owned it, who manufactured it before you surrendered your pocket money to take it off their hands, it is now Your Property. Not the property of Hell's mindless multitudes, and not some poor Marine's discarded weaponry. Yours. You shelled out the 90 credits to buy the thing. And it's all worth it. Additional Credits to : See bottom of text file =========================================================================== * What is included * New levels : None Sounds : Yes Music : No Graphics : Yes Dehacked/BEX Patch : Yes Demos : No Other : All required DDF's, RSCRIPT, and stuff Other files required : None * Play Information * Game : Doom or Doom 2 Map # : No maps (unless you make them for me, heh) Single Player : Designed for Cooperative 2-4 Player : No Deathmatch 2-4 Player : No Other game styles : EDGE has no netplay. Difficulty Settings : Yes * Construction * Base : New from scratch Build Time : A month Editor(s) used : XWE, Paint Shop Pro 9, Adobe Audition 1.5, NoteTab Pro Known Bugs : Attempting to purchase an item without first meeting the requirements for it (for example: upgrades) still displays the error message, but when you can meet the requirements, the item is sent directly to your inventory. There may be other purchase-related bugs, but I am unable to fix them because RTS probably wasn't designed for something of this large a scale. Bugs That Were Fixed : Dispenser terminals no longer refuse to function when you land on top of them. Maps like Requiem Map08 are no longer impossible to pistol-start. New Features This Ver. : Added a Chi Punch attack on Slot 0 that the player starts with - it can be used to hit switches from a distance. Also added an Initial Equipment menu where you can select which weapon to start with (but it only appears on the first level. May Not Run With... : Versions of EDGE earlier than 1.29 RC3. This mod uses the start_map all feature in RTS, which was not implemented until RC3. Don't expect this to open in ZDoom, Doomsday, or the like either. * Copyright / Permissions * Authors MAY use the contents of this file as a base for modification or reuse. Finally, you MAY (and are ENCOURAGED to) make a set of maps designed with this gameplay mod in mind. You are free to steal my purchase scripts - they are simple once you get an idea of how they're laid out - and put them into your own EDGE map. Feel free to do whatever you want with the mod. You can take my weapons too - just be sure to read my credits so you'll know where all my resources came from! I'd hate to see somebody get in an uproar over "ripped" resources! * Where to get the file that this text file describes * The Web: http://armory.drdteam.org/ * Spend More Money * This is no ordinary weapon mod. Instead of taking discarded and stolen weapons, you must buy your weapons. You do so by taking the money around the levels, and mugging the various hellspawn for their lunch money (after all, even in Hell there is a need for money, the root of all evil). Everywhere there used to be a weapon in your favorite Doom level, there is now a dispenser terminal about half your size. Walk up to it and press Use to activate it, and a menu will appear. Just press the number key that corresponds to your purchase, and the terminal will take your money and dispense your order. If you don't have enough money, the item will be put on reserve for you and it will be transported to your inventory the moment you have enough money. (So don't push the purchase button unless you mean it!) Each terminal (or SupplyBot) supplies a different inventory - a set of weapons, different stocks of ammo, and a unique BargainBin item for each terminal (Hell's Terminal does not have a BargainBin). Note that some energy weapons, like the Photon Pistol and Rotary Plasma Cannon, run on a nonrechargeable battery and you must purchase another one of the same weapon to use it again. SupplyBot Lv.1: Melee Weapons and Most Common Ammo Types (replaces Chainsaw) Lv.2: Pistols, pistol ammo (replaces Shotgun) Lv.3: Rifle-type weapons and shotguns (replaces Super Shotgun) Lv.4: Machine guns and squad support weaponry (replaces Chaingun) Lv.5: Explosive weapons (replaces Rocket Launcher) Lv.6: Energy weapons (replaces Plasma Gun) Lv.7: Experimental and Highly Destructive weapons (replaces BFG) Lv.?: Hell's Terminal (replaces Soul Sphere) * Credits * Project Director and Main Coder: WildWeasel Submitted Weapons ----------------- BIT SMG, Popleon Cannon, Shiva Nitrogen Pistol, Slugger Shotgun: Chronoteeth Stealth Rifle: TheDarkArchon Additional Code Help -------------------- Attack Code Debugging: TheDarkArchon Clips and Shell Casings: Cory Whittle Street Sweeper: Xaser (ported from Decorate by WildWeasel) Purchase Scripts done with assistance from: Ajapted Beta Testing Team ----------------- * Loki Jr. * Chronoteeth * TheDarkArchon * TawmDee (TomD) * Marty Kirra * Slasher Graphics By Lump (if a graphic is unmodified, an [m] appears at the end of it) (Also note that I do not count applying Doom formats, eg. palettes and sample rates as modifying a graphic) ---------------- PUNG, PUNF, KICK, KICF, KNEE, KNEF: id Software, Scuba Steve, Banjo Software CBAR, XBAR: Xatrix KNIF, KNF2: Apogee Software GLCK, DGLK, GLCM: Cory Whittle REVG, REVF, REVR, REVM: Nmn SPSG, SPSM, SPSR: Kaiser, Cory Whittle SHT2, SHM2: id Software, Don Tello, Banjo Software FAMF, FAMS, FAMR: Corrupt Marine, id Software, Scuba Steve CHGF, CHGG: Scuba Steve SSHF, SSHR, SSHT: MegaMedia, Snarboo SLUR, SLUF, SLUG: Freedoom Team, Chronoteeth MSRG, MSRR: Marty Kirra M60G, M60F: Lobotomy Software [m] SHSC: Xaser SHSF, SHSG, SHSR: Monolith Software, Cory Whittle, Xaser [m] PHOF, PHOT: Xaser RTSG, RTSR, RTSF: Xaser, Marty Kirra ROCF, ROCG: Post [m] EBLL: Espi [m] LAWG, LAWW: NovaLogic 30CA: TheDarkArchon [m] BBOX: id Software BCAS: Stock photo CAS2, CAS3, CAS6, CAS7, CLP1, CLP2, CLP3, CLP4, SPCR: Cory Whittle [m] SMOK: Doom 2.5 Team SHEL: Cory Whittle, Chronoteeth [m] DIS*: Quake 3 Fortress team CASH: 3D Realms [m] EXP1, EXP2: Rogue Entertainment [m] EXP3: Apogee Software [m] EXP4: Valve Software BBMG, BBMF, BBMR: Post, Chronoteeth [m] PUTO, PUTF, PUTR, PUTM: Cory Whittle, Post [m] RO2G, RO2F: Doom 2.5 Team, Post [m] BITB: Chronoteeth LINK: Author unknown NTPJ: id Software, Post NTSD: Raven Software, Post SBFX, SBS4: Raven Software LAS*: WildWeasel D3PR: Doom 2.5 Team, Post RPCF, RPCG: Doom 2.5 Team, Chronoteeth [m] PLSE, PLSS: MofoOfSpades BFE1: id Software BFS1: Xaser Sound Effects by Lump (unmodified entries have an [m] beside them) --------------------- DISPON: id Software [m] DISPER: " [m] DISPOK: " [m] DISPOF: " [m] BARHIT: Valve Software [m] BARWL*: " BARMIS: Ion Storm Austin [m] XBRHIT: Valve Software, Gearbox XBRWL1: Valve Software, Grey Matter XBRWL2: " XBRMIS: Ion Storm Austin, Stock sound PUNCHA: Sega [m] PUNCHB: " [m] PUNCHC: " [m] PUNCHD: SomethingAwful [m] PWALL: Team AHL [m] PMISS*: Ubisoft [m] KHIT: Raven Software [m] KSLASH: " [m] KSWG*: " [m] PISTOL: Counter-Life Team [m] PRLOAD: CoD: Revolt Team MAGNUM: Team AHL [m] MAGLOD: Wannabe SPISTL: Monolith Productions [m] SPCOCK: " [m] SPIN: " [m] PSWHP*: 2015 [m] PWHIT*: " [m] SHOTGN: Raven Software [m] BSHOTG: Red Storm Entertainment [m] BOPN: Valve Software BLOAD: " [m] BCLS: " SGCOCK: Xatrix DBLOAD: 2015 DBOPN: " FAMAS: Valve Software [m] FRLOAD: Bungie Software [m] CHGUN: Raven Software [m] CHOUT: Team AHL CHIN: Monolith Productions [m] CHSLAP: Team AHL M60: Red Storm Entertainment M60RL: id Software, Gray Matter, Raven Software ASFIRE: 989 Studios [m] SHSPMP: Capcom SHSIN: Infinity Ward SHSOUT: " PHOTON: Bungie Software [m] OOF: id Software NOWAY: " PLJUMP: " PLPCH*: " PDIEHI: " PLDETH: " PLPAIN: " LAWFIR: Valve Software [m] LAWXPL: 2015 [m] CASH: Xatrix [m] SHELL*: Valve Software [m] SSCOCK: 2015 SSFIRE: " [m] SSLOAD: " [m] SHTRDY: " [m] SHOLST: Xatrix [m] RLOUT: Raven Software [m] RLIN: " [m] NEBEL: 2015 [m] NEBOUT: id Software [m] NEBIN: ZevenVII, Duds, Sureshot [m] SRRIFL: Monolith Productions [m] SRROUT: Valve Software [m] SRRIN: Rare SRRCOC: Scuba Steve WWXPLO: WildWeasel CASIN*: Valve Software, Xatrix BITSLD: Author Unknown BITIN: " BITOUT: " BITFIR: " SHVFIR: Blizzard Entertainment [m] SHIVO: Gearbox [m] SHIVR: Gearbox, id Software SHIVA: Ritual [m] SHVEXP: Raven Software [m] SHVBNC: " [m] ICEBC*: Epic Games [m] ICEEXP: Bungie Software [m] BFGFIR: id Software [m] BFGBNC: Valve Software [m] BFGDTH: " [m] BSTEEL: Raven Software [m] GETPOW: Soldat Team [m] ROTARY: Parallax Software, Grey Matter SPECB: WildWeasel, Acclaim SPECXB: Raven Software [m] SPECA: Acclaim [m] SPECS: Acclaim SPECXA: Acclaim [m] Special Thanks -------------- Chronoteeth - For referring to me as "a god", "surpassing Cory Whittle" and several other things. Darkknight and Ajapted - For helping me with the purchase script, and releasing a version of EDGE with a new feature that helped get rid of a lot of headaches Xaser - For being the real innovator in the weapon mod community. Decorate monsters dropping weapons? DEHSUPP? Decorate weapons? He did 'em all first. Snarboo - For being just plain cool. Nmn and Grubber - For giving me web space and hosting for my site.
