=========================================================================== Advanced engine needed : None Primary purpose : Deathtag (alternative rules) =========================================================================== Title : Jailbreak 0 - Example WAD Filename : jailbrk0.wad Release date : May 8th, 2004 Author : Dean "deathz0r" Joseph Email Address : deathz0r@zdaemon.org Other Files By Author : UDM series, mydoom.wad, Mock 2, countless other junk Misc. Author Info : Ex-/newstuff reviewer. Totally awesome DMer. Something else as well, but I forgot. Description: ~~~~~~~~~~~~ To start off, I actually made this in mid-January 2004, but I never decided to do something with it until now. Anyway, this is basically an example WAD showing off an alternative type of Deathtag which only uses doom2.exe limits, which is somewhat similar to a Jailbreak sort of system, I guess. There are two teams, Red and Blue. In this example WAD, it is not really possible for either team to score, but when I finish Jailbreak 1, it'll only be possible for the Red team to score. If you want to determine which team is better in Jailbreak 1, fire off two rounds with both teams swapping their positions in the second round, and see who does it quicker. Back to Jailbreak 0, this level shows off a fair few things you may not realise, like the different coloured lights that are at the side of doors. They mean the following: * Red doors are suited for Red team members to go through, but it is also possible for Blues to use. * Blue doors can only be open by Blue members, as they only open on one side. * Green doors are to protect Red members from being spawn killed by Blues, but they also act as a double-edged sword. If anyone tries to go outside, they will be teleported into a dark crusher sector. As you may have noticed by now, the Red team are the offending team, and the Blue team are the defending team. Since my idea of Jailbreak is only recommended for four players, I suggest the following layout: * One Jailbreaker, one Criminal for Red * Two Guards for Blue The Jailbreaker only has access to a normal shotgun and a chaingun, with no additional ammo or armour. They're the underdogs in this, and they have to somehow topple the Blues, which have super shotguns, not to mention 100 shells and blue armour to top things off. The Criminal cannot do anything, yet he is crucial for the Red team to score. Once the Jailbreaker hits the switch that lowers a secret passage in the Criminal's jailcell, the Criminal makes a dash for that passage and well, scores. I also made it that if you're playing with more than two Reds, that only one Criminal may escape at a time. Actually, it's not included in Jailbreak 0, but it defintely will be in Jailbreak 1. I also have an objective-based idea for Jailbreak 1, in which the Jailbreaker will have to perform multiple tasks in order to release the Criminal. If he dies, he'll have to do it all over again! Of course, I haven't actually started on Jailbreak 1 yet, so I'll have to experiment a bit here and there while I'm creating it. By all means, feel free to give me comments about Jailbreak 0. Seeing as this is an example map, I don't really care about the detail of the map, but more or less the layout of the map. Another thing, this map was not made for jumping, so don't tell me about the windows looking all screwy when you jump. It's a doom2.exe trick, mmkay?
