By all means, criticize away. After playing countless hours and countless other wads, I felt I had a pretty good idea of what makes a successful deathmatch wad. Most people I've played appreciate a small, well designed level with a high encounter rate. However, they *don't* appreciate numerous respawn frag possibilities common with Maps 1 and 7 of the original doom2.wad. Using these criterion as guidelines, I proceeded with the design of FUEHRER.WAD. As for those who haven't tried creating a wad of his or her own, I'd recommend trying. After hours of thought, learning the editor, and texture alignment (did the best I could), I can now appreciate what wad authors go through to bring us more variety and excitement to our deathmatch games. Please keep it up. In the future, I may try to build yet another deathmatch wad. While designing this current one, many new ideas came flooding into my brain all at once. I hope I can remember some of them. Oh well..enough of my babbling.
