The American Embassy was told by their informants that a new weapon has come- up... It seems that we cannot get enough threats from our old pals, the Nazi. They're mangling the world again.... What they have been told is that the Nazi have somehow accessed a way to another dimension---specifically, DOOM dimension from the future. They have brought (or shall I say invited) the creatures from DOOM dimension to join forces with them in order to exercise their vision to populate the world with only themselves as "super power beings." Remember, this is 1944. The Americans would not tolerate any such action that would disrupt the flow of our timeline and the future of our world. Therefore, the Americans have opened their own dimension by asking you from the future to come back to their period to stop this madness. Obviously, you did not refuse to this task since it is essentially to your future that could become nonexistent. That is something you don't even think to happen... Therefore, you travel back in time to help them.... As the Americans explain upon your arrival, the Nazi with the exception of "GHOST" have also created two new monsters---Speed Demons and Time-Bombs. Speed Demons are the equivalent to the pinkish gorilla-liked demon but much faster and deadly. They appear and move like spreading fire. The Americans' suggestion to avoid them: run like hell and keep running. Shoot them as you're running away from them. Believe me it helps... Now, Time-Bombs.... They are Imps but grey in color. These bastards have the power to destroy you if you get too close to kill them... Their bodies explode and harm anything near them if they have been hit by you or other enemies. Watch out for these guys by staying far.... Now, "GHOST"... Unfortunately, nothing is known for the Americans to begin explaining for you. They do not even know what shape it's in... And, the best they can tell you is that if it passes through the wall then you would know.... Your job (and what you have sworn to do for your own sakes!!) is to find it and eliminate it.... Good Luck...... Finally, you have landed... in a forest. In front of you.... is a fortress..... You better run...... There was something else that they haven't told you yet... You weren't the first they've asked............ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Instructions: Make sure all files are under the directory where DOOM2 is which includes the main DOOM2.WAD. Type INSTALL. This would modify the GSPRITES.WAD for permissible sprites (would NOT affect the main DOOM2.WAD). This would also create a GHOST2.EXE file (should NOT affect the main DOOM2. EXE either). Type GHOST to play. To restore the original GSPRITES.WAD, type RESTORE (only if you want to save it on a disk---You should!!) To start a new game on an easy level, restart game as you normally do by selecting a new level, etc. Then type (without quotes) "idclev07", during the game process, which should warp you to the seventh level for "GHOST". For cooperative/deathmatch play, don't forget to add wads (GSPRITES.WAD, GSOUNDS.WAD, GMUSIC.WAD, and GHOST2.WAD) and to set regular "GHOST" skill level on 4. Credits: "GHOST" is played by Guy Babin.
