LMP TOOLS FOR DOOM & DOOM II VERSION 1.12, BY MARK HATTON. ---------------------------------------------------------- This program is similar to LMPUTILS, but it has a few extra options and it's slightly easier to use. The main new addition is that can you change the level number that a specific LMP refers to. Here is an example of how this could come in handy: You have two Doom 2 WADs: 4PACK.WAD contains 4 levels (MAP01 - MAP04), the other (1PACK.WAD) is just MAP01. You record yourself playing on MAP01, and save the lmp as 1PACK.LMP. Now you love the level 1PACK.WAD so much that you want to put it with your other four levels, and make a wad called 5PACK. You do this, and MAP01 from 1PACK.WAD is now MAP05 in 5PACK.WAD. Everything works fine, until you try to play back your LMP of 1PACK.WAD with 5PACK.WAD loaded (eg. DOOM2 -FILE 5PACK.WAD -PLAYDEMO 1PACK.LMP). The LMP goes straight to MAP01, which is the wrong level altogether, and everything will stuff up totally! This is where LMP TOOLS comes in. As well as viewing heaps of info about any LMP, it can also change this MAP number. So, you would just have to type: LMPTOOL 1PACK.LMP -WARP 5 This would make the 1PACK.LMP refer to MAP05, and the LMP will now play back properly when using 5PACK.WAD. Oh, and the WAD names used in this document are just there as an example. Who knows if there is actually a WAD called 1PACK, or 4PACk, or whatever. You can also change the Player Perspective of an LMP, and view heaps of info about any LMP of your choice (including Episode, Map, Skill, Nomonsters, Duration, etc.) Future versions of this program will have many more configurable options, and there should also be a Windows version coming soon.
