The loss of life on the colony worlds of man has reached a stage where humankind can't supply the fighting Marines well enough to win. Military Intell has been trying for over a year to discover how the Strogg are able to move supplies and troops so quickly over the vast area of space that makes up the WarZone. Earth based astronomers have recorded high burst levels of Quantum particles emitting from widely spaced star systems. One centered in the Strogg area of influence. Possibly Stroggos itself. The nearest system to Earth exhibiting the radiation signature discovered is Caltrith. A near Earth normal planetary body with a reddish sun. The Search and Discover mission sent in was able to transmit only garbled data, but what was decoded led to your mission. The S&D teams data showed a large lab complex on Caltrith IV. High levels of Quantum energy in bursts indicated an ongoing experiment or prod- uction facility working on the fourth planet. Intell wants you, a single survivier of 10 insertions with ACE status, to find what the S&D recon called "The Darksun Portal". You must aquire a Radio Marker and place it near the the entrance to the "Portal". Last you must use whatever means you can find to leave Caltrith IV. The follow up team will be too long in arriving to help extract you (Since they aren't sure you'll survive anyway). "Great. Another bloody suicide mission." you growl at the briefing officers retreating back. They'll drop you in the outskirts of some canyons where you will climb into the target valley last reported by the first one man S&D mission before Loss of Signal occured. "Just once I'd like a Holiday without all the natives." Picking your dice up from the table you shake and and let them fall, 11 showing. "11th mission .... hmmm." Heading toward gear up with your mind distant the dice slip softly into your pocket. Time to Roll the Bones with Death ... again. ============================================================================= --LEGAL-- These Quake 2 levels (darksun*.bsp) are (c) 1999 Scott Davis Kraus >>>>>>>>DO NOT put these levels on any sort of commercial product.<<<<<<<<< (Royalties and money talk.
