If this is your first night at Club Shub, just hide in a dark corner or stand on the upper deck and watch the ruckus! It may take you a while to get your courage up, but you'll want to get down in the pit and mosh like a madman before the night is over. Things may get a litle rowdy at ClubShub, but fighting is discouraged. Please do NOT shoot the patrons - take out your aggression in the pit. If any monsters die in club shub, another monster will come in through one of the front doors. This ensures that there will be plenty of action in the pit all night long. When you first start, most monsters will just be thrashing in the pit. Just give them some time, they'll get real wild. Basically, we were REAL frickin bored on Christmas day, and we somehow decided that we wanted to make a monster mosh pit and give it to you guys as a cheesy Christmas present. There's some really nice dynamic behavior on the part of the monsters. They mosh, run, stage dive, even crowd surf if they can land on anyone! There's an extra weapon in Club Shub (it's not very well hidden) but you still have to find it. Impulse 9 will not give you the new weapon, impulse 20 will activate the weapon when you find it. The new weapon is an old patch that has been lying around on my hard drive (with about 15 other never-before-seen patches) and John pestered me to put it into this add on, so I did. :) When you first start out in Club Shub, don't shoot monsters. They are here to Mosh, not fight. No one will attack you, and if you get in a fight, you'll only have to deal with the guy you picked a fight with- the rest of the patrons will not jump you. It's a blast to watch the monsters get down and funky. Wait till you see an ogre crowd surfing. This patch was made in a day, guys. There are tons of features we wanted to add, but we decided to just finish up the features that were already in and release. I'm not very proud of the code I wrote for this project... it works, but it's pretty sloppy. :( There are tons of little tweaks that I wanted to add to the animation sequences, but we've spent enough time on this one for now. To the best of my knowledge, all bugs are gone. The source will not be released. Known Problems: --------------- -A couple fullbright pixels on the new model -Don't try to play normal QUAKE maps with the CLUBSHUB patch. :) Installation/Use: ----------------- Make a directory off of your quake directory called 'clubshub' copy the pak0.pak file from this archive into the clubshub directory type 'quake -game clubshub +map clubshub' to begin.
