This patch was made for diehard Nightmare/Old DM players (Type _"deathmatch 2"_ before you start a level for DM to get "old DM"). The 2 shotguns will do a lot more damage: 3 hits with the single SG will kill a player with 0/100, and the SSG will gib an opponent from short range while being rather gentle at more than a few meters. You'll also get more ammo when you pick up a shotgun. The Rockets are much slower, so you can actually dodge them, but the guy with the RL will have twice as many of them as usual, so beware !:) The Nailguns got a bit more ammo, the fire rate is unchanged. With a lucky Axe hit, you might even kill an opponent now. I increased the axe's damage because it was never ever used in a DM, and if, it was pretty useless. Not anymore! The Lightning Gun is unchanged. How to Install the Modification ------------------------------- Make a sub-directory in quake called "DoomGuns" and put the progs.dat in there. Then, from your Quake dir, type "quake -game doomguns" OK, this is just a dirty hack, but it works quite ok, and we here like it better than the original weapons.
