1.0 Mergewad.exe - Quake Editing tool for Worldcraft users. (wad2-builders section) Written by Geoff Phillips (c) Feb 1997. DOS or DOS under WINDOWS binky@DeathsDoor.com *Features* This program can be used to turn two wads, as used in Worldcraft, into a single wad. Any duplicated textures are removed, the ones from the first file having priority. I wrote this to accompany BSP2WAD which turns BSP files into WAD files, since it is inconvenient having multiple texture files, with the same texture turning up several times. Also Worldcraft seems happier with fewer texture files. Although it was written to work for texture building, other wad files containing pictures or other formats should also work, but I haven't tested this. *Written in..* The program is written in a tight piece of assembler, so runs with no appreciable delay. *Using it... * To run the program, you need to have the two wad files to hand, and you will be creating a new wad file as a result. The command line is, for example, MERGEWAD base.wad metal.wad new.wad which would make new.wad from the base and metal.wad. You can use a path to get to the file, e.g. MERGEWAD D:\QUAKE\WC\base.wad c:\windows\quake\metal.wad e:\temp\blob.wad my page http://users.powernet.co.uk/phillips contains some useful tools, including "isitsame.exe" a surreal sentence generator, a sentence unique for every file's contents. This program can be freely distributed, but comes with the usual not-my-fault disclaimer. If you want to include the program in any kind of money- changing-hands scenario, please contact me first.
