Patched LILO for other Linux distributions

Several people have managed to download the SuSE version of LILO from one of the SuSE FTP mirrors (as explained on my help page) and to build a new LILO package for their distribution. According to the feedback that I received, this can be done without too much trouble for Debian, Red Hat, Slackware and others.

Some kind souls have even provided pre-compiled packages for their distribution, in order to help those who would also like to try this version of LILO:

• RPMs for Red Hat 7.2 built by Leonard R Smith.
  Binaries and sources are provided, for both LILO and mkbootmsg.
• RPMs for Red Hat 7.2 built by Julian 'Micronuke' Harnath.
  Binaries and sources are provided, for both LILO and mkbootmsg.
• Packages for Slackware 8.0 built by Rob Kelsen.
  One package contains the sources; the other one includes the binaries and some boot screens.
