Summary: As you all know, until now the player had in one hand a
gun and the other hand, was never used, except to taunt in
multiplayer. My suggestion is now, that that hand is also usable;
for example for pushing a button, opening a door, etc. Also with
this hand you can hang on walls (a bit like the grapple in CTF,
but you don't have the grapple). Also when you touch a
forcefield, which you can't pass, you see electric shocks through
your hand. The same thing can be used for certain buttons. Etc.
Etc.
Advantage: We think this would make Quake 3 more realistic and
more fun than any other game on the market. By the way the
buttons in Quake 2 are way the big, we think.
Disadvantage: Small buttons?! But this makes the game more
captivating, because you have to search a bit for buttons. In
Quake 2 you can see buttons from far away.
Effort: We don't think this would be a lot of work to implement
this, well not including the modelling of the hand.
