Today's the day, finally, after half a dozen reschedulings. Took the box down to migrate some components over to the new box.
Features in the new system:
Rebooted. Incoming mail is being queued on another mail server in case we take longer than 4-5 days to do this.
This evening, tried moving data in a different way. System hung again. Clearly, the new drives do not want to play co-operatively with the old drives. Need another reboot.
Disabled new drives. Have to deal with that later. Much progress made getting web server and mailing list server ready.
Web server ready - brought up live late at night (Sunday morning).
FTP server ready - brought up live Sunday morning.
Majordomo mailing lists ready. However... Enabled sendmail, but relay mechanism caused a delivery loop. Stopped sendmail. Will deal with this later on Sunday.
Mail services restored. Majordomo lists now functional.
FTPMail services restored. Minor bug fixed.
At this point, we're pretty much up to speed. Expect occasional brief periods of downtime as we continue to tweak things.
Thursday's downtime was caused by a misbehaving disk drive which has now been banished from the machine. That was the last glitch that we know of. Things are lookin' good!

There will be some brief downtime sometime within the next 2 days when we go off-line to re-arrange our file archives.
OK - upgrade done - we're in business. Thank you for your patience.

We've installed two new 9 Gigabyte drives for more archive space. See What's New for more info.
