When You go in to a target, first >accelerate to about 650kts. "Crazy! I aggree, and there is an additional reason for doing this: Enemy fighters can't lock on you if you are low and fast (below ca. 550 ft AGL and above 600 kts, I think). >Another question we discussed was the effect of bombong certain targets. >The manual mentions some of the effects in the Command section and I can >verify that if the oranges have not a single POL-farm their morale is 0. I'm not sure about this. Maybe "supply" goes down to 0, but I don't think this is true for morale. Enemy zero morale should end the conflict. I'm currently on a cammand campaign (Day 5, 23:20), and I think I destroyed all remaining enemy POL installations during the last attack, but the enemy morale is still 38%. Supply is 0 for both sides, although the blue forces still have POL tank farms. I tried earlier in the conflict to destroy enemy power plants by bombing all cooling towers at each targeted site, but it didn't have a big impact on the enemy. I think it was to early in the conflict, the manual says that attacks on power plants work well only if the enemy is performing poor (german manual page 101). But the last attack on a power station (allied morale 60% at the beginning of the mission) was quite successful. The allied morale increased to 62%, *although* the allied forces lost an airfield and the orange forces repaired one, otherwise this would have meant a big gain in enemy morale. I also tried bombing some civil objects like "tall office buildings" and "large industrial units" (hey, the orange ones started doing this :-) ), but I don't think it helped a lot. All this applies to the original version. I was unable to continue my campaign under the new version 1.0B. One more think: I admire the programming skills of the author of a time compressor for TORNADO, but *never* felt the need for this. After all, real pilots don't have a time compressor in their cockpits either (not yet :-) ). One think you can do before/after attacks is looking for unexpected threats and targets of opprtunities, especially SCUD launchers. If you land at your airfield and still have an ALARM loaded or more than one or two Sidewinders, then you probably missed some good targets of opprtunity, like ZSUs and Su-25 / choppers. However, you should engage airborne targets of opportunity only if you are near your home base and have enough fuel left to speed to over 600 kts to evade enemy fighters that seem to be called in by the enemies you engage. Most of them do not have direct Internet access, but can send and receive Internet mail through GEnie. To contact someone on this list, for example, a player with the GEnie Mail address A.WARRIOR, send Internet mail to a.warrior@genie.geis.com Even if you're only interested in finding out more about Air Warrior, a player in your local area is well worth talking to!
