The diagrams on the back show a combat scenario being edited, and it looks like the mode is just "drive through an area of bad guys, arranged in no particular way, and shoot like crazy". This seems more Commanche-like. Is this true, or is the game actually fairly close to reality, with enemy units arranged in reasonable cover and positions, not just "hot spots"? What do people think of Earthsiege? Has anyone heard of a release date for any further OutPost upgrades? I sent my card in this summer, but received nothing, and have given up on hearing from these bozos. David "Save the list!" Plans are also afoot for a followup tank game. > > Armoured Fist should be out real soon too, maybe next month. My local egghead got Armored fist this morning. The manager popped the CD in one of the demo machines. The video out takes are quite nice! Game play & basic graphics were less than I expected. Being a big COMANCHE person, I was really looking forward to this one. Framerate was noticeably choppy on a 486DX33. This brings up a SC CD gripe. The haze... Supposedly there is a "no-haze" option. The thick white band on the horizion is still there. It just doesn't gradually fade into the ground terrain. That is NOT my idea of "no-haze". Loose the thick white band!!! Other than that, SC-CD is the same SC that I love. Only now there is full speech. > ------------------------------- > > From: Chera Bekker > Subject: US Navy Fighters > > So now for the four basic(?) questions we all ask since Falcon 3 appeared: > > 1) what about network/modem play? While the task force it self wasn't mentioned... There does appear to be trucks on the deck, A pretty good meatball, animated deck crew. There is a Cat Officer for launches (he will supposedly touch the deck to signal to the deck crew to launch you.) Cat launched supposedly blow away all others (take your pick there :-) The flightmodel (according to the magazine) appears to have more of the important stuff (stalls, spins, energy bleed depending on loadout) than moost of the other BIG sims. > From: sackett@alpha2.csd.uwm.edu (Mike Zimmerman) > Subject: Can some one give me opinions on FTX? > > Please e-mail me because I usually dont read all the Hitech-sim messages. > > [ This is quite rude.
