This is the second patch to TFX. It requires the first patch to be already installed. This is the announcement message on CIX: ========================== did/files #8, from did, 1934 chars, Feb 22 18:27 94 -------------------------- Uploaded is tfxpat_2.zip which is a new version of TFX you must have the floppy based version of TFX that has been patched by the tfxpat_1.zip Ammendments for version 2.0 of T.F.X 21/2/94 1.All measurements are now standardized as not-metric. i.e lb's not kg's & miles not km's. 2.Separate support for G.U.S card sound effects. SBOS.exe is still needed for music. 3.Engine sound now does not stutter. 4.Option for mixer settings to be left alone for the sound blaster card. 5.Cannon now limits to 1760 rounds. 6.Adlib selection now works. (previously ADLIB would only work if sound blaster was selected) 7.W.C.S I configuration file included. 8.Selection of next/previous waypoint. next waypoint is N previous waypoint is N 9.Realism menu now saves out. 10.F.C.S view hat configuration is better. 11.shift q key has been standardized. It now gives the option to quit to DOS or return to enrol. 12.There is now a definable joystick sensitivity in game. 13.BINGO message now comes on at 500lb fuel. 14.Some screen glitches on Paradise W.D cards & some other local bus cards are now fixed. 15.Air to Air canon predictor on the HUD. Target on a plane. Then using the planes speed, heading and pitch information calculates the position that the plane needs to be in for your canon to make a hit. Place the predictor over the plane and your canon should hit. 16.AGM 65D's now use the laser designator to target. They also lock onto heat emitting ground based mobiles. 17.CSW now uses laser designator. Also scatters bomblets over a wider area. 18.Training has to be accomplished only once. 19.Weapon select selects next weapons as opposed to next pylon. 20.Config.exe gives the option to select the settings on your sound blaster card. i.e IRQ, address etc. 21.You can change the brightness of the HUD display using the Y and U keys. -- Mike Zanker (A.M.Zanker@ncl.ac.uk)
