============================================================================== Happy Napalm Software Presents A Chainsaw Production DOOM Gore v3.0 and DOOM 2 Gore v1.0 ============================================================================== Title : DOOM Gore v3.0 and DOOM 2 Gore v1.0 Filename : After installation, you'll use these files: For DOOM: DMG30T.WAD and DMG30.WAD For DOOM 2: DM2G10T.WAD DM2G10.WAD or, you can use DMG30.BAT to run it. Publisher : Happy Napalm Software Author : Chainsaw E-Mail Address : chainsaw@cinti.net Web Page Address : http://www.geopages.com/SiliconValley/2145 Come on down to the Happy Napalm Web Page! Misc. Author Info : The GOD of DOOM add-ons. Almighty ruler of Happy Napalm Software. One of the best level designers. Most demented person in the world. Description : Get ready for the best of the series. This version rules. No more stretch graphics, no more screwed up ending sequences, this is the most complete and best made of all the series. Splattering heads, spine splits, intestinal yankings, melting flesh, burning bodies, peeling skin, and more!!! Aaaaawww yeeeeaaah! Release Notes : This is an incomplete release. Many things are missing. This will be fixed in a couple weeks with the release of DOOM Gore v3.1. The new release will include a DOOM Gore Enhanced level (fot DOOM 2), some (many) new textures, and the deaths for the enemies that are missing from this version. 5 files will be released at that time: DOOM Gore v3.1 Patch w/o LDK DOOM Gore v3.1 Patch w/ LDK DOOM Gore v3.1 Level Developers Kit DOOM Gore v3.1 Whole Release w/o LDK DOOM Gore v3.1 Whole Release w/ LDK For those of you wondering, there will NOT be a Heretic Gore, as stated in DOOM Gore Special Edition. That project has been cancelled. Sorry, but the reasons for that will result in stuff MUCH better than a little old gory graphics patch. Good news, everyone! It seems that when in Death Match, DOOM could give a crap about whether or not you see the same graphics as everyone else, so long as the sectors, things, linedefs, and vertices are the same. That means, if your friend doesn't have DOOM Gore (heaven [or hell] forbid) or doesn't like DOOM Gore (shoot him and put him out of his misery), or if you have different versions, or one of yours has an upgrade patch or whatever, it doesn't matter. You can still play Death Match or cooperative (puke) against each other. AWWW, YEAH! Now, here are a few exceptions to this rule: To play E1M1 of DOOM 1, you both MUST have DOOM Gore and any DOOM Gore Enhanced levels will not work unless you both have them. Other than that, it's pretty cool about it. YAY! Additional Credits to : id Software, the DEUTEX and DEUSF guys, DMGRAPH people, DMADDS people, anyone else who made any of the programs used by The Gore, Nine Inch Nails for that cool little .VOC file, PC Gamer, a huge ass thanks to Centrex for making da new executable for the install program, and Kris, my BETA tester and Death Match opponent. ============================================================================== * Play Information * Game : DOOM, The Ultimate DOOM, and DOOM 2 Compatible Game Versions: 1.2 (works but gives errors) 1.666 1.7 1.7a 1.8 1.9 That's just about every version of DOOM there is, except for BETAs, and you shouldn't have those anyway... The following appears to be a long list of bugs with this program, but in reality, it's not. Known Bugs : 5 of them and most likely, they won't even affect you. 1.) If you install on version 1.2, it will give you a few errors during installation, but it works fine after it's finished. I suggest that you install on a fresh copy of DOOM or DOOM 2 version 1.9. 2.) If you try to install after you've already installed, it won't reinstall. Delete the files DMG30.WAD and DM2G10.WAD to reinstall. 3.) Some people may experience lock-ups when they load up the install program. This is a bug in AAPLAY.EXE that causes some computers to lock up. If this happens to you, just delete the file AAPLAY.EXE and it should work fine, except you won't see the cool Happy Napalm logo... 4.) If AAPLAY.EXE has to access your CD-ROM or ZIP Drive when you start the program, don't worry about it. We have no idea why it does that... 5.) If you load up the game using the file DMG30.BAT, you should hear the NIN.VOC file play. If you don't, the reason may be because your sound card is not a Sound Blaster. Sorry. Now then, those aren't REAL bugs are they? At least not OUR bugs. DOOM Gore itself is bug free. Hehehe. * Copyright / Permissions * Authors may NOT use these graphics as a base to build additional DOOM add-ons. On with the installation! * Installation Information * You should have recieved the following files with this program: DMGORE30.EXE - This file will install the program for you. DMG30T.WAD - This is the file for DOOM with non-sprite graphics. DM2G10T.WAD - This is the file for DOOM 2 with non-sprite graphics. DMG30GFX.WAD - This is the file with the changed graphics. DMG30GF2.WAD - This is needed for DOOM 1 installation. DMGORE30.TXT - This is the file you are looking at right now. DEUSF.EXE - This is needed to create the final DOOM 2 PWAD, which, by the way, is almost 4 megs. DMADDS11.EXE - This is needed to create the final DOOM 1 PWAD. DMGRAPH.EXE - This is needed for DOOM 1 installation. AAPLAY.EXE - This is needed for viewing the GIFs. FILE_ID.DIZ - This is the description file used by BBSs everywhere. HNAPALM.GIF - This is the title screen for the batch file. HNAPALM.FLI - This is the Happy Napalm Logo. This breathtaking sequence of burning letters showcases our name in a nifty little animated look at Hell itself. Or something like that. HNAPALM.TXT - This is needed to view the GIF and FLI correctly. Don't mess with the text file man... DMG30.BAT - This file will let you play with the gore AFTER you install it, NOT before. So there. NIN.VOC - This is a cool little sound from Nine Inch Nails. This will play at the conclusion of running the file DMG30.BAT. PLANY.EXE - This nifty little file will play the cool little sound from Nine Inch Nails. BETA.TXT - A very disfunctional BETA slipped out, semi-marked as DOOM Gore Special Edition, which it was not. Read this if you recieved it. DMG30REG.EXE - This contains registration information. You must have access to the Internet to use these. Run it to extract its files. The included files should be: DMG30REG.HTM - If you can fill out forms using a Web browser (like Netscape), then fill this out and send it in. DMGREGBG.GIF - For the Internet form. DMGREGLN.GIF - Same as above, only different. DMGREG1.GIF - Yet another graphic. DMGREG2.GIF - More. DMGREG3.GIF - More. DMGREG4.GIF - Last one. Or something. To install the new gory graphics, type DMGORE30 at the DOS prompt. A menu will appear and you should be able to figure it out. Note: The Ultimate DOOM is considered the SAME as DOOM 1, so anytime DOOM 1 is mentioned, the same applies to The Ultimate DOOM. Due to the fact that there are DOOM 2 graphics in the .WAD files, the installation for DOOM 1 is different than DOOM 2. It will take quite a bit longer to install for DOOM 1 than DOOM 2, so here are approximate installation times for each game on my computer which is a 486 DX4/100... (The percentage bar which appears during DOOM 1 installation is a file manipulation percentage, NOT a time percentage, so it will speed up a whole LOT after the PWAD is made...) DOOM v1.2 - 3 minutes DOOM (ALL OTHER VERSIONS) - 2 minutes The Ultimate DOOM v1.9 - 2 minutes DOOM 2 (ANY VERSION) - between 15 and 30 seconds To run the graphics, type: DMG30 if you want to bypass the pictures and menus, type this: DMG30 DOOM1 for DOOM 1 or DMG30 DOOM2 for DOOM 2 or if you prefer to type it out yourself: DOOM -file DMG30T.WAD DMG30.WAD for DOOM 1 or DOOM2 -file DM2G10T.WAD DM2G10.WAD for DOOM 2. If you want to use another PWAD with these, put it's name AFTER these WAD names when you type it, otherwise, it may not show up when you are playing. -Prepare for the Napalm Revolution.
